Introduction

The Canon EOS C50 Full-Frame Cinema Camera (RF Mount) is a compact yet powerful tool designed for modern filmmakers. Featuring a 7K full-frame CMOS sensor and advanced image processing, it delivers outstanding cinematic quality in a portable body.

Design and Build

Engineered for versatility, the EOS C50 combines durability with ergonomic design. Its detachable top handle includes XLR inputs, offering professional audio recording options and flexibility for both studio and field production.

Image Quality

At the heart of the C50 is a 7K full-frame CMOS sensor paired with the DIGIC DV7 processor. This combination enables 7K RAW recording up to 60fps and oversampled 4K video, ensuring superior clarity, dynamic range, and color depth for cinematic storytelling.

Recording Capabilities

The camera supports multiple formats, including Cinema RAW Light, XF-AVC, and XF-HEVC. Open gate recording allows filmmakers to use the entire sensor, providing flexibility for framing and post-production adjustments.

Autofocus & Performance

With Dual Pixel CMOS AF II, the C50 offers fast, precise autofocus and advanced subject tracking. It can detect and follow people, animals, and faces across nearly the entire frame, ensuring reliable focus in dynamic shooting conditions.

Connectivity & Workflow

Professional connectivity options include HDMI output, USB-C, timecode, and dual card slots (CFexpress and SD). The camera supports simultaneous recording, streamlining workflows for faster editing and efficient content delivery.

Ease of Use

Despite its advanced capabilities, the EOS C50 is designed with intuitive menus and user-friendly controls. This makes it accessible to both experienced cinematographers and emerging filmmakers.

Conclusion

The Canon EOS C50 Full-Frame Cinema Camera (Canon RF) is a versatile and powerful filmmaking solution. With its 7K sensor, RF lens compatibility, and advanced recording features, it delivers the performance and flexibility needed to produce cinematic content at the highest level.
