Sony A7R Mark IVa Body (ILCE-7RM4A) with Sony FE 35mm f/1.4 GM Overview

Introduction

The Sony A7R Mark IVa is a high-resolution full-frame mirrorless camera that combines professional imaging power with advanced functionality. Paired with the Sony FE 35mm f/1.4 GM lens, this kit is designed for creators who demand ultimate detail, precision autofocus, and artistic flexibility in both photography and videography.

Design & Build

Built with a robust magnesium alloy chassis, the A7R IVa offers dust and moisture resistance, ensuring durability in challenging environments. Its ergonomic grip and refined button layout make handling comfortable for long shoots. The 5.76M-dot OLED electronic viewfinder and a 3.0-inch tilting touchscreen LCD provide clear, high-resolution monitoring and easy control.

Imaging Performance

At its core, the A7R IVa features a 61MP back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor, the highest resolution among Sony’s Alpha lineup. Combined with the BIONZ X processor, it delivers breathtaking image detail, wide dynamic range, and excellent low-light performance. The 5-axis in-body stabilization ensures sharp results, even when shooting handheld.

Autofocus & Speed

The camera is equipped with an advanced Fast Hybrid AF system featuring 567 phase-detection and 425 contrast-detection points. Real-time Eye AF for humans and animals ensures reliable subject tracking in both stills and video. Despite its ultra-high resolution, the A7R IVa maintains continuous shooting at up to 10 fps, making it suitable for both portraits and action.

Video Capabilities

The A7R IVa is also a strong tool for videographers, offering 4K UHD recording with full pixel readout and no pixel binning. S-Log3 and HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) profiles provide flexibility for post-production and HDR workflows. Combined with its powerful autofocus tracking, it serves as a capable hybrid camera for professionals.

Lens Performance – Sony FE 35mm f/1.4 GM

The included Sony FE 35mm f/1.4 GM lens is a premium wide-angle prime that excels in sharpness, bokeh, and low-light performance. Its fast f/1.4 aperture allows for creative depth-of-field control, making it perfect for portraits, street photography, and cinematic video. The compact yet durable build complements the A7R IVa, providing professional results in a lightweight form.

Connectivity & Workflow

With dual UHS-II compatible SD card slots, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and USB-C connectivity, the A7R IVa ensures efficient file handling and smooth workflow integration. It supports tethered shooting for studio work and quick file transfer for on-the-go creators.

Conclusion

The Sony A7R Mark IVa Body (ILCE-7RM4A) paired with the Sony FE 35mm f/1.4 GM lens delivers an exceptional combination of ultra-high-resolution imaging and artistic flexibility.
